‘I
know exactly what words I am wanting to say, but somehow
or other they is always getting squiffsquiddled
around’. So says Roald Dahl’s Big Friendly Giant.
Children of all ages have read and enjoyed books by Roald
Dahl. Many of his stories, such as Charlie And The Chocolate
Factory and James And The Giant Peach, have become classics
in their own time. Of children, he said, ‘They love being
spooked… They love chocolates and toys and money… They
love being made to giggle’.
The inventions of Roald Dahl are indeed treasures both
for our children and for generations to come.
